         Travel-worn

Travel-Worn is a unique and lively Traditional Celtic duo based out of the Kitchener Ontario.  Members include Egan Baird and Barry Phillips.  The music they perform is primarily Irish and Scottish songs and tunes that are well traveled and worn into their repertoire. They are both multi-instrumentalists who play accordion, mandolin, concertina, bodhran and djembe (drums), tin whistles and guitar.

Barry Phillips was born in Kitchener Ontario.  But his family moved back to Cape Breton Nova Scotia when he was a young child as his parents were both from there originally.  Like many kids growing up in Cape Breton he has been playing music since he was 8 years old.  He has played in a couple different rock bands over the years but has gone back to his Celtic roots and now plays in the Celtic duo Travel-Worn.  His first instrument was the accordion and also plays piano, guitar and bodhran which he uses to accompany his vocals.

Egan Baird has been performing Celtic music for over 20 years now.  He sings and plays a wide range of instruments including concertina, djembe and various tin whistles.  Although a few stylistic influences can be heard on the tin whistle from his year abroad in Thailand, it was his experience with the band Lyrics and Laughter in Cape Breton Nova Scotia that later left a lasting impression on his overall stage presence.
